Vandaag is het precies één jaar gelden dat de domeinnaam BrandMeister.Network werd geregistreerd. Het netwerk heeft in dit afgelopen jaar een gigantische ontwikkeling doorgemaakt en het einde is nog lang niet in zicht. Er wordt natuurlijk al veel langer geprogrammeerd aan het netwerk, al vanaf 2013. Wij zelf hebben kennis gemaakt met het netwerk op de HamRadio 2014 in Friedrichshafen toen nog onder de naam Advanced DMR networking. Als je BrandMeister in het zoekveld bovenaan deze pagina intikt kan je de hele historie van dit netwerk volgen. Wij willen het BrandMeister team van harte feliciteren met deze mijlpaal en veel succes toewensen met de verdere ontwikkeling van het netwerk.

Exactly one year ago, we purchased the domainname BrandMeister.Network.
This is where it all started. The development of BM has already started somewhere in 2014 but one year ago, the first BrandMeister masters were up and running and the dashboard was launched.

In meanwhile, the development has not gotten to a halt for a single day.
The server software keeps getting updates every few weeks, new systems are being supported as fast as possible.
The Dashboard was completely recoded and launched in Ham Radio Friedrichshafen 2015. It now offers a complete portal for selfcare, repeater management, master management and user management.
Hoseline, which was initially developed by a community member, is now also an official part of BrandMeister.
The BrandMeister wiki is now also available from wiki.brandmeister.network and received a new theme to fit with hoseline and the dashboard.

In this year, we’ve been able to deploy over 30 servers, connecting with repeaters in over 40 countries!
I think we can proudly say that BrandMeister is now the biggest DMR network in the world. We’re not stopping now! We keep actively looking for more interested people to deploy new servers, connect with more repeaters, … We’re doing our best to make this network even bigger!

What’s important is that BrandMeister is community driven. The master servers are hosted by local sysop communities, which have a free master server available or pay for it with the help of their users if needed. The repeaters can be used by everyone, with almost every DMR TIER 2 device that’s on the market today. If there’s a manufacturer out there working on a new type of DMR repeater, you can bet that BM will be supporting it as soon as we can get our hands on one of those repeaters. This also counts for radios!

It’s thanks to you that we’ve became this big already, and as we’ve said before, we ain’t stopping now!
We want to show the world what it’s like to be part of an open DMR community.

Mid-November update
After a few long months of designing, testing and fine tuning, we finally have some concrete things to share with you guys. It might not be exactly the kind of news you were expecting, but we’re confident you won’t be disappointed…

Despite our best efforts, the MMDVM revision 1.2 is still far from completion. The design we originally envisioned for 1.2 incorporates a really good filter, but it is quite “aggressive” and requires more work, a lot more than we anticipated, both in software and hardware.

You probably noticed the messages some of our rev 1.2 testers exchanged on the Yahoo group over the last few months … We tested and tweaked, and then tested some more but unfortunately it’s just not ready.

A big “Thank you!” goes to all those who helped us design and test this board. We owe you a beer! (or five?!)

We’ll continue to work on the MMDVM revision 1.2 boards, and we hope we’ll find a solution
In the meantime, as a small and well deserved reward for your patience, we’d like to present you a new board: the Rev 1.0.1 board.
We designed the new Rev 1.0.1 board with the following features:
· 12Mhz TCXO
· Multi-turn pots
· RSSI Inputs
· I2C output (to connect LCD)
· A serial output (to connect LCD)
· Additional radio sense and control lines to be used for DR1X conversation
· Protection diodes on all the radio signals
· Additional Status LEDS
The PCBs are ready and they’re heading to the CM. However, it is mid-November and the timing is not really great. As the holiday season approaches fast, the deadlines become really fluid… We’d love to tell you that we’ll ship them in 2-3 week but we simply don’t know. Our best guess is “December”…
Once we get into production we will off course be releasing the schematics (PDF)

The Zastone D900 is a variant of the TYT MD-380 (aka: Retevis RT3) and is an entry-level 70cm DMR+FM transceiver. This gives you access to the new DMR system as well as conventional analogue FM repeaters. The radio uses the same firmware/internals as the MD-380 but has a slightly different case style. One of the benefits of DMR is the use of TalkGroups and Time-Slots which allow 2 conversations to take place on a single frequency. This means that a repeater can be used for a local (RF) QSO at the same time as supporting a world-wide QSO.
